eyeTeknix utilizes an enterprise-class system architecture, based on the J2EE framework as specified by Sun Microsystems. The robust open source database platform MySQL is deployed for the database layer, and JBoss is used for the application server layer, both of which are used in hundreds of Fortune 500 and leading Internet companies world-wide. Linux is the preferred Operating System, which ensures robust performance, security, and reliability. Based on this platform, eyeTeknix can scale from a small clinic with a few users, to a larger setting with hundreds or thousands of users.
eyeTeknix leverages Internet technology, and runs through a standard Internet Explorer web browser with no client-side software needed. This enables rapid deployment, and the ability to access the system from remote locations securely through SSL encryption. This also enables mdTeknix to remotely maintain and administer the software at client locations, reducing service costs and ensuring the latest modifications to the software are available to customers.
The eyeTeknix EMR has been optimized for use with touch-screen monitors and Tablet PCs, which ensures quick adoption and increased speed of data entry from within the clinical exam rooms. This ensures minimal disruption to the practice workflow, while also minimizing the length of time for staff to learn the system.
The software can be deployed on a server within the clinic, or hosted externally in an Application Service Provider (ASP) model for those practices that do not wish to maintain a server on site. |
